Today, August 21, is National Senior Citizens Day, a special day to honor our elderly population.
In 1988, President Ronald Regan established National Senior Citizens day as an official holiday, and many states participate by taking the day to celebrate inspirational seniors who have made a difference in their society.
President Reagan had said:
“For all they have achieved throughout life and for all they continue to accomplish, we owe older citizens our thanks and heartfelt salute.”
